Looking for a place to #OptOutside on Friday? We have 50+ wildlife sanctuaries across the state, from Cape Cod to the Berkshires. On our hundreds of miles of trails you can take in ocean, pond, and river views; explore forests and fields; hike drumlins and eskers; stroll boardwalks and gravel paths; discover stone walls and observation towers; go on a Quest or play nature bingo; and enjoy solitude on benches or in bird blinds.

And, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy nature, we have 12 ADA-accessible, multi-sensory trails that offer a richer experience for visitors with a wide range of vision, hearing, and mobility levels.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so it’s time to be thankful for turkeys. While most livestock originates from Europe, Africa, and Asia, turkeys are native to the Americas and were domesticated by ancient Mesoamericans. Therefore, our wild turkeys are close relatives.
