Introducing “Your great outdoors”

Mass Audubon means many things to many people. We, of course, are the “bird people.” But, depending on who you ask, you may get a wider range of answers. We are campers, land and wildlife conservationists, advocates, naturalists, teachers, educators, birders, beekeepers, photographers, plant lovers, animal lovers, farmers, gardeners, conservationists, hikers, writers…you get the drift.

Perhaps it’s the diverse nature embedded into our constitution that has kept us from entering the blog-o-sphere. Sure, we have our enewsletters and blogs based on location or program interest and we have fully embraced Facebook and Twitter. But to write a blog that can convey all that we are is challenging to say the least.

But we are now up for that challenge and excited to introduce the Your great outdoors blog. Each week we will do our best to cover a range of topics and interests about the natural world around us (from bird id tips and special events to gardening how-to and project updates).

Of course, we would love to hear from you. If you have topics you’d like to read about, or questions for one of our many, many experts, comment away!
