Take 5: Warblermania

Birdwatchers are going wild for warblers. In the spring, these small songbirds migrate up to Massachusetts; some will stay to nest here, and others are just traveling through en route to more northern breeding areas. They journey by night and rest during the day, often flitting about the trees in city parks. Here are some past entries to our Photo Contest that highlight their striking colors and patterns.

We had a flock of yellow-rumped warblers in our backyard in Southborough yesterday! Also heard a black-throated blue warbler but didn’t see it.
