Buying binoculars (or any optics for that matter) can be a very personal decision. There is no one-size fits all. Different qualities will appeal to different people for different reasons. The team at the Audubon Shop at Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary in Lincoln is always on hand to answer any optics question, especially regarding their extensive collection of binoculars and spotting scopes from a variety of quality brands.
Better yet, on Sunday, September 8, the Audubon Shop is hosting their annual Optics Fair. Not only will Mass Audubon members save 15 percent on all binoculars, spotting scopes, and optics accessories, but representatives from various optics manufacturers such as Swarovski, Zeiss, Pentax, Opticron, Meopta, and Bushnell will be here to demonstrate their products.
During the Optics Fair, the Audubon Shop will also be collecting used working binoculars and spotting scopes for the Birders’ Exchange, a program of the American Birding Association that distributes the equipment to birding colleagues working to conserve birds and their habitats throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Any equipment donations are considered tax-deductible donations.
Ready to take advantage of the sale but not a Mass Audubon member yet? You can join at the Audubon Shop on Sunday (or any day for that matter) and take advantage of membership benefits immediately.
