This year, more than 4,500 images were submitted in the Mass Audubon Picture This Photo Contest—another blockbuster year! After much deliberation, we are happy to announce that we have selected the winners of this year’s contest.
Congratulations to all the winners and thanks again to everyone who participated.
This past year has been remarkable in so many ways—and it’s all thanks to Nature Heroes like you. You have visited sanctuaries, attended programs, volunteered your time, shared your experiences on social media, made donations, and so much more.
Check out a snapshot of what you helped accomplish this year below or in our Annual Report and watch our new video to see more Nature Heroes in action!

Massachusetts, Munchkin is now believed to be foraging in warmer waters.
456
Acres of
additional land protected across Massachusetts, raising our total conserved
acreage to 38,211 acres. This land serves as important habitat for plants and
animals; provides people with clean drinking water, fresh air, better health,
and more places to experience the joys of nature; and leads to a more resilient
Massachusetts in the face of climate change.
510,000
Visitors that
explored one of 60 wildlife sanctuaries across the state.
