Session 1… Camp is here!

After months of planning, weeks of training, and a lifetime of anticipation, Session 1 has arrived gotten off to a great start. Campers and staff took advantage of the great summer weather to have lots of fun all over Wildwood. IGs started today, and campers were flying high at the ropes course, and getting their hands in the dirt in the gardens. Dragon(fly) hunting was a popular activity this afternoon and the group was able to catch a variety of different species and learned how to handle them safely.

At OATs, the waterfront was the place to be as campers doused each other on the Lily Pad, while others enjoyed a more relaxing dip in the pond. Units went all out in tonight’s Unit Night as Dillard searched out the Wildwood Creature’s nest and came out unscathed with delicious “eggs” in hand. The boys units took cooling off to heart as they had a complete circuit of water-based Olympic games on the field.

So much fun and we’ve only just finished up the first full day of activities! We’re so excited about what’s to come, especially with overnights just a few days away. Speaking of overnights, the Acadia Adventure Trekkers spent some time creating some Goldsworthy-esque art at their campsite before spending the rest of the day sea kayaking. They’ll be off on bikes tomorrow and of course doing plenty of hiking in the National Park.

Stay tuned for another update later this week. We’ll be enjoying the great summer weather and we hope you will be too!

    Hi,
As I drop off my son to the wildwood camp I meet some old and some new members of the staff from last year! It is great to see them all! Welch is the new and excited director! Congratulations!
