Good Evening Everyone,
Well, just another fabulous week here at Wildwood! Can you believe this weather? It doesn’t get much better than this for camp. Our Interest Groups got started this morning – these are programs that campers chose and go for 2 hours every morning for 4 days for a total of 8 hours for each topic. I got to work a bit with the Dirt to Dinner IG this morning. This week we also have Sailing, Forest Exploration, DIY Arts, Adventure Skills (at the ropes course), All About Flight, and Archery. This afternoon, we had some great DG (discovery group) programs including Tie Dye, Tracking, Canoe Ponding, Storytelling (a very popular topic this summer), and more. You’ll see some pics below from many of these activities today. I’ve also got a few images from the weekend camping trip that took place, both here and at Mt. Monadnock.
Our Scaling the Whites trek has checked in a couple times to say that they are having an absolute blast, scaling some impressive rock faces in the White Mountains. They sent me some images that you’ll see at the end of the pictures below.
Lastly, I’ve included a couple pictures of some neat nature stuff we’ve seen over the past few days including;
A beautiful group of Indian pipe
The track of a leaf miner
a gypsy moth laying eggs
an ichneumon wasp with its long ovipositor – great stuff!
Tonight was “Bring a letter to dinner” night and we’ve got a big box of letters that will be heading out to the post office in the morning! Keep your letters and packages coming too – we love them!
If you haven’t started having your fun for the week, there’s no way you’re going to catch up with us – well, let’s be honest, there was no chance anyway! But we do hope you’re surviving OK without your camper!
We’ll be back again with another update soon, so stay tuned. Until then, enjoy these images, and remember that you can click on any to see it full-size.
Good night!
Bob
Thanks, Bob, for posting photos of the kids. Keep ’em coming, it is great to get a glimpse of the campers happily enjoying Wildwood!
Best,
Stephanie (Sophia’s mom)
