Hi everyone! Sorry this first post took me an extra day, but here we are with an update to Session 4, LIT2s and JCs.
We are off to a really great start with Session 4 – how about this weather! Cool nights and spectacular days up to this point! We began with an amazing opening campfire on Sunday night where lots of campers and staff entertained us with songs and skits – it was so much fun!
By now, all our campers are in the groove with IGs, DGs, OATS, EPs, PBJs and all other 2-3 letter acronyms we’ve got going on here! We’ve been in sailboats, canoes and kayaks; we’ve been swimming, on the ropes course, in the nature center, at the archery range and arts and crafts and everywhere in between – its been great! And we ain’t done yet!
Right now campers are enjoying one of our favorite EPs – Stock Market, where they can buy up and trade stock for some very interesting products (for example, tonight one of the products is self-inflating PDF pants). But watch out, in each round strange things happen which ultimately affect the stock value (maybe the fish find these pants attractive and pop them for instance). Its a lot of fun!
For those of you watching the weather for the next couple of days, yeah, we might see some showers here and there, but it gives us a great chance to pull out some of those special activities that have been in the waiting, so it will be great.
The JCs are beginning to shadow staff in the morning Interest Groups, and they will be heading up an EP in the upcoming days. In other areas of camp, they are right on target for what we hope they will accomplish in their time here with us!
The Second year LITs just returned from a three-day trip to the Berkshires, the Mohawk Trail and UMASS Amherst. They had a great time and brought back a few pictures to share.
There’s one more camera that has a few more images on it, and we’ll get some more tomorrow too, so we’ll be back on Friday with another batch for sure! Until then, keep the cards and letters coming! And enjoy the rest of your week, because we are certainly enjoying ours!
Enjoy the pix (which are in reverse order!) and remember to click on any to bring them up to full size.
Goodnight!
Bob
