As we enter into Week 4 of CSA distribution, we are still enjoying a steady harvest of strawberries, as well as a bountiful crop of peas for Pick-Your-Own (PYO).
For this week’s pickup, look forward to…
- Strawberries
- Kale
- Swiss Chard
- Radishes
- Lettuce
- Spring Onions
- Garlic Scapes
- Peas (PYO)
Remember that Monday is fish pickup for those of you with fish.
We are now selling pasture raised beef from the Trustees of the Reservation in addition to honey, maple syrup, and spices.
Hi,
Great to be back receiving fresh produce each week. Look forward to the summer’s bounty.
Question though on the 1st month’s yield. Last year, we were already getting broccoli, squash, 8 ball zucchini, and varieties of greens – ovation, mizuna, romaine.
Last year , there was a water drought and told we would have less but there is less this year. Are you nor harvesting as much due tp manpower or deciding to spread out the bounty throughout.
Thanks for your reply
Thanks for asking. Indeed we have had a drought in the past and this year an excess of rain. When our crops are ready really is a realization on the weather and when planting was able to happen as well as how things can grow in the fields. It seems like we are almost a week behind what we were able to harvest last year at this time. Week 5 is looking more like week 4 of last year with some new additions that are earlier, beets and carrots. We are indeed harvesting what is ready in the fields for our shareholders.
