More disturbing, it turns our back on 194 other nations that remain steadfast to ensuring the Earth\u2019s health and geo-political stability.<\/p>\n<p>Mass Audubon, founded more than 120 years ago by a pair of women who pledged to speak out on behalf of the environment and biodiversity, today honors their legacy in re-asserting our commitment to protect the nature of Massachusetts and America for people and wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump\u2019s disheartening action will only inspire us to re-double our efforts at the state and local levels of government to combat the ill-effects of climate change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But we need your help.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Talk about climate change with your friends and family, get involved in your communities, protect open space, and <a href=\"https:\/\/secure2.convio.net\/mas\/site\/Donation2?3960.donation=form1&amp;df_id=3960\">stand with Mass Audubon<\/a> to advocate on behalf of the environment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/secure2.convio.net\/mas\/site\/Donation2?3960.donation=form1&amp;df_id=3960\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8497 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.massaudubon.org\/yourgreatoutdoors\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2016\/12\/donate-button-e1481220018594.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"40\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE:\u00a0<\/strong>On June 1, \u00a02017 President Trump officially withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A message from Mass Audubon&#8217;s President, Gary Clayton.\u00a0 I am extremely disappointed at the news that President Trump is considering withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord, which is a massive step backward from confronting the greatest environmental threat to the planet.
