Festival highlights include sheep shearing demonstration, hands-on activities, local fiber artisan demonstrations, and Drumlin Farm&#8217;s new spring babies. (All ages)<\/p>\n<p>Vernal pools are home to frogs, salamanders, and even fairy shrimp. Find out about\u00a0these incredible, temporary bodies of water during Blue Hills Trailside Museum&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.massaudubon.org\/get-outdoors\/program-catalog#program:startDate=1458964800:endDate=1459051200:whatTags[]=exclude_camps:program_code=43361\">Vernal Pool Mysteries<\/a> in Milton. After learning inside, we will visit one\u00a0a\u00a0vernal pool to discover why these &#8220;wicked big puddles&#8221; are one\u00a0of the best places to study the health of the nature of Massachusetts. Come down to the Boston Nature Center for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.massaudubon.org\/get-outdoors\/program-catalog#program:startDate=1458964800:endDate=1459051200:whatTags[]=exclude_camps:program_code=45885\">Magnificent Mud<\/a> and\u00a0learn all about the properties of mud, how it can help you eat well, and the animals that call it home. Try your hand at some mud art as well! Then, we&#8217;ll head outside to\u00a0search for eggs in our field and see how well they are camouflaged.
