Join with other volunteers, family, and friends at 16 wildlife sanctuaries across the state from 9 am to noon.<\/p>\n<p>We have a variety of projects for people of all ages and interests\u2013all guaranteed to put you in touch with nature and provide a sense of accomplishment! Projects include (but are not limited to):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Painting the wildlife blind at Canoe Meadows in Pittsfield<\/li>\n<li>Preparing butterfly and hummingbird gardens at Felix Neck on Martha\u2019s Vineyard<\/li>\n<li>Plum Island Beach Cleanup in Newburyport with Joppa Flats<\/li>\n<li>Constructing an outdoor classroom at Endicott Wildlife Sanctuary in Wenham<\/li>\n<li>Removing invasive species of plants such as the kiwi and bittersweet vines from many of Mass Audubon\u2019s trails<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-5288\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.massaudubon.org\/yourgreatoutdoors\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/04\/BNC-SVD-03592-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"528\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.massaudubon.org\/yourgreatoutdoors\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/04\/BNC-SVD-03592-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.massaudubon.org\/yourgreatoutdoors\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/04\/BNC-SVD-03592-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.massaudubon.org\/yourgreatoutdoors\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/04\/BNC-SVD-03592-624x468.jpg 624w, https:\/\/blogs.massaudubon.org\/yourgreatoutdoors\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2015\/04\/BNC-SVD-03592-900x675.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During <a href=\"http:\/\/www.massaudubon.org\/get-involved\/volunteer\/statewide-volunteer-day\/2014-statewide-volunteer-day-highlights\" target=\"_blank\">last year<\/a>\u2019s Statewide Volunteer Day, 450 volunteers cleared acres of beaches, spread mulch and woodchips, restored turtle nesting areas, and created new trails.
