Go on a Night Hike at Habitat Education Center in Belmont to “see” the night in a whole new way. We’ll begin inside with an activity or two, before heading out to see what the night has in store. (Family, registration required)

Sign up for the Getting to Know Digital Photography Workshop at Broadmoor in Natick to better understand the features of digital cameras. You will use the landscape and creatures of Broadmoor to practice techniques to help improve your digital photography. (Adults, registration required)

During a guided Evening Outdoor Meditation around the Boston Nature Center, the natural world will be your setting for reflection and stillness as the sun sets. (Adults, registration required)

Go on a Family Screech-Owl Prowl with the Blue Hills Trailside Museum in Milton to explore the world of owls. Discover some of the unique adaptations of owls, practice owl calls, and meet some of the museum’s resident owls before going on a night hike to search for owls and other nocturnal life. During Ipswich River’s Fall Migrant Birds of Plum Island in Newburyport, beginners and advanced birders alike will travel the length of the island searching for a wide variety of birds. The low shrubby vegetation offers land birds feeding opportunities, while the ponds and marshes attract shorebirds, waterfowl, herons, and more. (Adults, registration required)

Conquer one of birding’s greatest challenges: sparrow identification.
