Greater Boston
Head to Drumlin Farm in Lincoln for a little Sunday Morning Birding for a chance to see a nice variety of spring migrants. Good for all levels of birders. (Ages 12+)
Enjoy a Once-in-a-Blue-Moon Campfire at Blue Hills Trailside Museum in Milton. Gaze at the moon and stars, separate lunar fact from lunar fiction, and toast some marshmallows. (Families, registration required)
Get Wild About Amphibians at Broadmoor in Natick. Learn about frogs and salamanders and take a short walk to the marsh and vernal pool to see more animals in the wild. (Families, registration required)
Join Moose Hill on a Mount Auburn Birding field trip. The cemetery in Cambridge is listed as one of the 79 Important Bird Areas (IBA) in Massachusetts and the place to see a variety of spring migrants, especially colorful woodland warblers. (Adults, registration required)
Help plant fruit trees and berry bushes at Boston Nature Center in Mattapan as part of Tree Planting Weekend! (Families, registration required).
North of Boston
Venture out with Joppa Flats’ talented guides for Saturday Morning Birding to find birds in one of the best year-round birding locations in the country: the Newburyport/Plum Island area. Beginners and birders of all levels are welcome to drop in and join us. (Adults)
Become a field scientist during Ecosystem Fun at Ipswich River in Topsfield. Use a science inquiry approach to explore a woodland, a wetland, and a field. (Families, registration required)
South of Boston

Listen to author David J. Bookbinder read from his book, Fifty-Two Flower Mandalas: A Meditation, during Flower Mandalas for Meditation, Healing, and Coloring at Broad Meadow Brook in Worcester. During Yoga at Wachusett Meadow, learn to connect breath, body, and mind with nature as our backdrop. This class is appropriate for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced, as several options/modifications will be given for each pose. (Adults, registration required)
Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard
Join Wellfleet Bay for a Bird Banding Demonstration. See birds up-close and in-the-hand while learning about banding methods and the information gathered from these research projects. During. (Ages 10+, registration required)
Walk the beach in Edgartown with Felix Neck’s shorebird biologist. During Tracking Shorebirds, you will record field data, search for birds and nests, and identify bird and mammal tracks in the sand. (All ages)
Connecticut River Valley
Celebrate turtles at Laughing Brook in Hampden as part of Turtle Day and Earthtunes Concert. Expect a live turtle talk, nature walk, and an Earthtunes performance using puppets and recycled instruments. (All ages)
