Joppa House Raven

House Raven – Lynette Leka

Recently a Common Raven appeared at Joppa Flats, sitting on one of the vans. This bird has been observed bathing in parking lot puddles, biting hub caps (Toyota seems particularly offensive), and generally surveying its parking lot domain from atop our vans for some part of most days, oblivious of foot traffic nearby. We wish the bird did not feel the need to “decorate” our vans so much, but we are so charmed by this unusually gregarious raven. Ravens are supposed to be so smart, and to like shiny things, so why can’t it learn to wash the vans with something other than…white stuff.
